To promote, coordinate, monitor and evaluate private sector activities in pursuit of an enabling business environment;

To facilitate harmonized private sector approaches on cross-sectoral issues.

Apart from being the national apex voice of the private sector, KEPSA is now the focal point of reference on matters of business by the government, the development partners, the media, regional bodies and its equivalent business associations and/or federations across the globe. In 2013, KEPSA has chosen to be more proactive and engage with all stakeholders to sustain a prospering Kenya focusing on high level advocacy, projects that result in national development and improving our services to members.

KEPSA’s strength is in its diversity, with its member associations representing both large and small enterprises engaged in all sectors of the economy and spread across the country.

The high level engagement structures with the Executive through the Presidential Private Sector Working Forum (PPSWF) and KEPSA Parliament Forum has resulted in break through policies that are enhancing an enabling business environment. KEPSA will continue playing its key role to improve the investment environment to ensure that the private sector, the engine of economic growth, fulfills its part in leading Kenya to attain its goal of becoming an industrialized middle income country by the year 2030. The private sector has work to do and we call on all like minded partners, organizations and individuals to join us. We have invested for the long haul and we have to keep the conversation going, for the benefit of all stakeholders.

KEPSA as the apex body of the private sector in Kenya comprises of all organized Business Associations big and small and gives room to many corporate organizations who are also direct members beyond being part of their primary associations. KEPSA is non-aligned and non-political and is all inclusive. Its membership is diverse with big investors and micro investors alike. Our three main areas of focus as the secretariat are Visibility, Impact and Sustainability to meet our goals and become a world class Business apex body. In the 2013 general elections, KEPSA was proactive, innovative and flexible in engaging all stakeholders to ensure the country holds peaceful and credible elections. We are happy that peace prevailed and businesses continued operations as usual.

There will be a transition as the country welcomes the county governments which we shall engage in extensively. Due to this, we shall introduce new engagement forums like the county forums among others; we look forward to expand growth as investment expands.

The good news is that KEPSA is equal to the task and the resultant challenges that will come up. It will continue to work with developments partners, government and other stakeholders to achieve its mandate. KEPSA’s voice is not only heard locally but regionally too and we are making our mark internationally as well, as we develop partnerships with like-minded organizations around the globe. We are committed to see Kenya become the most competitive country in Africa and beyond as the wind of economic prosperity blows towards Africa as the new frontier.
